Kristy's Book Haul!

After reading Daughters of Smoke and Bone and The Raven Boys I knew that I needed to get the next in both their series. They were so addictive that I wanted more - no, I needed more! So last week, when I got my paycheck, I went straight on amazon (via my iPhone app) and made the purchase. No regrets. I also added a little extra book in there...one of my guilty pleasures
I have actually started reading The Dream Thieves, but unfortunately, my job has been giving me way too many hours to work and I haven't been able to read more than a few pages, which really blows because I really really want to read these. Plus I have a lot more I need to read this month and that I want to purchase.
I really do love purchasing books...I mean I do have my own personal mini library in my room, which reminds me, I have to put up more shelves!!

Kristy's Cozy Reads Week 3 (1/19-1/25)

This week I was feeling in the mood to read some romance novels…my guilty-pleasure. And what a pleasure they are (If you know what I mean).

Okay, okay, let me save the naughtiness for the bedroom….
So I decided to give in this week and read 2 romance novels about some very gorgeous yet brutish and arrogant Scottish Highlanders. The type that every girl wants to meet having the chance to go up into the Highlands and looking for some romance and adventure…I know I have been fantasizing about this more than I probably should. Not the point though.

Anyway, the books I read were actually rereads, because I still find them fascinating the second and third time around.

A Gentle Feuding by Johanna Lindsey
11430818

The Wedding by Julie Garwood
107778

These two wonderful ladies are actually my two favourite Romance authors. They know how to create a story, add handsome and charming characters, adventure, and they definitely know how to captivate their readers. So if you like romance novels (like I do) you should read their novels. If you have already read a few or all of them, then leave me a comment so we can talk about it or recommend me some of the ones you all like.

P.S. Johanna Lindsey’s Malory series is the BOMB!!

Genre Spotlight: Romance

Each week we have decided to post up two book recommendations for a certain genre of our choice. It's a good way for everyone to check out new books especially if you typically enjoy the genre of the week.

This week's genre is ROMANCE! So all you hopeless romantics out there can fall in love all over again.

Kristy's Romantic Recommendation:
1672727Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt
This book is full of youthful romance, breakups, and an annoying car ride that's way too long for comfort. And as we all know and sometimes refuse to acknowledge, there are two sides to every breakup. That's what Courtney figures out on this long, heartfelt journey. You can't help but feel bad for Jordan having to make some pretty hard decisions and Court giving him crap for it because really, it's hard to stay friends with your exes, especially if you don't have all the facts. There's a BIG secret just waiting to be uncovered and once it's out, well.... You'll just have to read it and find out what that's all about.

You won't be disappointed by Two Way Street. You get the love, the fighting, the heartache, and the vengefulness of a real relationship and much, much more.

Judith's Romantic Recommendation:
My pick is Only Yours by Susan Mallery. "Wait, wait Judith, isn't this the 5th book in a series?!" Why yes, it is. This is the 5th book in Susan Mallery's Fools Gold Series, but don't fret BECAUSE this is one of those series that you can pick up any of them and read them out of order! Of course, you get to know the other characters better if you read them all but this is just as fabulous as a stand alone novel! I recently fell in love with Susan's writing and have read 9 of her books but this one stands out the most. What do you get when you mix a quirky, lovable, therapy dog trainer and a stubborn, kindhearted, scarred, gorgeous surgeon? A story so real yet utterly magical. This is a story about how love and friendship have the power to heal not only on the outside but most importantly, the power to heal the scars that can't be seen.

If any of you lovelies have any romances of your own that you would like to recommend, leave us a comment below. We'd love to hear what you guys are reading too!

Next Week's Genre Spotlight will be Fantasy. If anyone has any future genres they'd like to see or any ideas of their own, drop us a comment!!!
